2 legged jumping isn’t as important as 1 leg running jumping for football in my opinion but it is still a very good indication of lower body explosiveness which can also correlate to acceleration speed.
There are times when you do need to jump straight up off 2 feet for marks in football and can actually be harder then 1 leg running jump marks as you need to time yourself to be at the top of your jump when taking the mark.
This takes practice and obviously the higher you get off 2 feet, the better chance you’ll have of taking the mark or getting a free kick.
